Club of the Year 2017
New Members Welcome

The club was established in 1932 and is currently thriving with about 500 members, making it one of the largest tennis clubs in Auckland City. This website will outline the range of membership options and activities that take place. You are welcome to visit on club days – introduce yourself to the appropriate Club Coordinator and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of our club.

Club Updates

WELTC were thrilled to receive three awards at the Tennis Auckland Awards in May this year, including Club Volunteer, Co-Winner of Facilities of the Year and winner of the Club of the Year.  According to Tennis Auckland the main reasons for awarding WELTC the Club of the Year were:

  • Co-Winner of Facilities of the Year — Massive clubhouse renovation
  • Winner of Volunteer of the Year — Mark Skridulaitis
  • The West End Cup tournament and getting this televised on Sky TV
  • Good administration
  • Well represented in interclub
  • Strong membership
  • Good coaching programmes
  • Links to local community

Check out our new clubhouse.  Enquiries welcome if you are seeking a venue for a party, conference or to run a regular community program.

Our midweek babysitting service has spaces available for club member's pre-school children.  The group runs during the term on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am to midday and is designed to get you back playing tennis.

Tennis for all ages

Children who are new to tennis are taught basic ground strokes and serving; those with more experience, volleying, how to score and play a match.

Club Events

The 2017 Wither Hills West End Cup is scheduled from Friday the 1st to Sunday the 3rd of December.  It is shaping up to be a fantastic event in 2017 and we will once again enjoy hosting the players, members and community in our wonderful new facilities.
